Gov. Scott Unwavering in Effort to Improve Florida’s Position as Pro-business

Gov. Rick Scott seeks to eliminate or reduce certain tax barriers by advancing legislation for more favorable tax treatment for equipment acquisition is in 2013- With the expectation this will create more jobs and increased manufacturing companies in Florida.

Such favorable tax treatment would include revised sales tax exemptions for manufacturers that purchase industrial equipment and machinery.  Such historical tax treatment has been considered a barrier to capital investment and job creation in Florida

Scott is seeking to allow all manufacturers to purchase new equipment tax-free. Florida’s Governor stated the revision will make Florida more competitive with other states and will boost exports and create jobs in the Sunshine State.

Scott continues to seek to improve Florida’s position to more effectively compete with other states with more aggressive pro-business environments to provide for increased business and jobs in Florida.
